Soil Pro

Overview

Soil Pro is a low cost wireless soil/humidity/water sensor that was developed for a customer.  It features a small footprint with a capacitance soil moisture sensor, and is BLE compatible.  One unit is placed in each house plant, and the array of units are accessed via a users cell phone to track the health of plants in real time.

Initial prototypes were built using Adafruit Feather BLE boards, Thermistors, and CR2032 coin cell batteries.  The final product was smaller, cheaper, more durable, and featured a custom PCB from oshpark and a copper epoxy hybrid capacitance probe.
